JUNIORLINKS.COM Privacy Policy

JuniorLinks.com adheres to a strict policy for ensuring the privacy of your family’s personally identifiable information. This privacy policy describes how JuniorLinks.com will fulfill its commitment to providing you and your children a trustworthy environment on the Internet. It is our hope that this information will increase your confidence in our site and enhance your experience with JuniorLinks.com.

Collection and Use of Information

We will not collect personally identifiable information from you or your child other than what is supplied voluntarily. In order to participate in some activities, visitors may be asked to provide some personally identifiable information (see below). We will only collect enough information from our visitors to make activities on JuniorLinks.com fun and interesting. Except as stated below, no personally identifiable information is retained in a JuniorLinks.com database.

We will always explain the extent of its use at the time you are asked to provide personal information. If you do not want this information to be collected or used by us for these purposes, you can simply decide not to participate in that activity. Under certain circumstances, opting out may prevent your participation in activities for which personal information is needed (i.e., contests).

To participate in the Golfer Spotlight section, users must provide their name, age, hometown and junior golf program. Parental consent is required before a golfer may be featured in this section.

To nominate a story idea for Golfer Spotlight, Program Highlight or Best Practices, users must provide their name, age and email address. If the nomination is used on JuniorLinks.com, this information will only be used to notify the user.

To send an electronic greeting card, users must provide their name and email address as well as the name and email address of the card recipient. We will only use this information to send the greeting card.

To participate in the online trivia game, users must enter a screen name or "playing" name. We do not collect any personal information from users.

Parental Involvement and Consent

Parental involvement in a child’s activities on JuniorLinks.com is very important to us. We never collect more personally identifiable information from children than is necessary for them to participate in our online activities. We always require prior parental consent before collecting or maintaining personal information from children under the age of 13. We also allow parents to request at any time that any information displayed about their child in the Golfer Spotlight section be removed from our website.

Third Parties

Juniorlinks.com uses personal information collected about its web site users only in defined and responsible ways. We do not share user information with third parties except when we have told users about disclosures, when we have prior consent, or when required by law.

Cookies

JuniorLinks.com utilizes persistent and per-session cookies. Persistent cookies are cookies that exist even after a client browser is closed. For instance, if a visitor checks "Remember My Login" next to his or her username and password, the website is likely writing a persistent cookie to the hard drive. When the visitor returns, the website reads the cookie file for cookies associated with the site and returns information based on the associated cookie values. Per-session cookies are non-persistent, however, meaning they are written to the visitor’s browser memory instead of the hard drive. In short, per-session cookies only exist for the duration of the browser session; whereas, persistent cookies remain available for future browser sessions.

You can control cookies from your computer through Internet browsers (like Netscape or Explorer) or by using other software. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can set your browser to alert you when cookies are in use. You may choose to disable or refuse cookies. You can also direct your browser to erase a cookie that has been placed on your computer by us or by others.
